Another out of town wedding saw us heading to Gujarat, to a town called Jamnagar where Manas & Charmi were to get wed in a typical Gujarati style wedding. This is the beauty of being an Indian wedding photographer, we get to travel the length and breadth of the country. It was our first time seeing anything Gujarati and we were in for a treat. We photographed our first Sangeet and it was great to see how the whole family, parents, aunties & uncles, nieces & nephews got together and danced the night away. The bride & groom shook a leg at the Sangeet as well and we got our first taste of how challenging it is to shoot pictures of a couple dancing up on stage! But their dancing did make for good candid photographs.

More dancing followed the next day, which was the day of the wedding when the groom and his family arrived with full aplomb, dancing the garba and before we knew it, the bride’s side of the family all joined in and not to mention we photographed more bride & groom dancing pictures! We found out how fun yet exhausting it is to photograph a wedding party with amazingly high energy levels.

The wedding ceremony itself was quite simple and non arduous and was over in a jiffy (if any Indian wedding can be said to be quicky!) and we headed over to a nearby children’s park with colourful swings, slides & monkey bars. Manas and Charmi and we were very enthusiastic to make the most of all the variety of props that we could use to get some amazing couple portraits in their wedding finery. Check out how these post Indian Wedding photographs turned out!

Since we were still in Jamnagar the following morning and the newlyweds were up for it, in spite of the long day they had the previous day, we took a few more couple portraits around some of Jamnagar’s older districts. It was lot of fun to shoot and fun to pose for per the happy couple. We were also lucky to find a stretch of beautifully empty roads and shot a few ‘film poster’ worthy romantic pictures!

Another wedding in Hyderabad and this time we photographed Vivek & Kiran, two people who met & fell in love at their work place & whom we knew personally as well! Vivek & Kiran’s wedding was a North India wedding and gave us the opportunity for our first encounter with the ‘groom-on-a-white-horse’ moment! We were quite thrilled to photograph the whole bandh-baja-baarath entrance of the groom and his family and got some nice pictures of the groom for a change! Knowing the bride well also gave us the opportunity to hang with her while she was getting dolled up & take some nice bridal portraits and candids.

On the whole, the wedding was a family affair with tons of laughter, which of course made for great photographs. We are extremely proud to get one shot during the Jaimala or garland exchange ceremony, which summed up the whole joyous night & the mood of the wedding. We froze the moment when Kiran & Vivek were trying to put the garlands around each other neck while trying to dodge the other’s garlanding efforts. Right when the shutter was released, one of the family members threw a ton of flower petals in the air and all friends & family in the camera frame were beaming up at the couple.

Shilpa and Warren’s couple portrait shoot was one of the most relaxed photography sessions we’ve ever had. Photographed at their beautiful home and garden, we captured the couple in their natural surroundings which we think is brilliant and makes for better candid pictures. Though Warren was a little camera shy in the beginning, since he had never been put to the spot this way before, we think we managed to get him comfortable enough, judging by the end result of the pictures that we got. If the love seems to be apparent in the pictures of the couple, we think its a job well done! Have a look at the pictures and judge for yourselves…

Shilpa features yet again in one of Cheezensnap’s photo shoots. Last time around we saw her as a blushing bride and this time we photographed her in an impromptu fashion shoot. Shilpa has an amazing fashion sense and along with enthusiastic husband, Rayo, who kept proposing the idea of a fun fashion shoot, we finally got around to doing this!

It was a nice experience venturing out of wedding photography and doing something completely different and totally fun without any pressure. For once we were able to experiment with our lighting and were in total control of the lighting the environment unlike in weddings where there are so many variables that can interfere with our photographs. We had the time to think of our next shot and direct our subject which was a luxury our photo-journalistic style of wedding photography does not allow. There were no tiresome video lights, no set of other photographers setting in our way, no cross wires optical triggers that went off when we took our shots and no pressure to get all the things happening and not missing a single ritual.

Corporate Headshots of Sam and Suchi

Our dear friends, Sam & Suchi needed some Corporate Headshots taken for their work & we were pleased to be there ready to shoot these pictures as well. The two were the first couple whose wedding we photographed and it was great to take their pictures again, over a year later! This time around it was totally different from the fun, chaotic, colourful wedding. For once, we could take pictures in a controlled environment and we got to set our lighting just right to get the photographs that Sam & Suchi wanted. It was quite a fun to photograph this assignment since it was so unlike all the wedding photography that we are used to.
